It wasn't necessarily a partisan failure here.
Talk to us about when you hear people say, we can't afford this.
You've said before, we can afford textbooks and we can afford to pay for the retirees that have served us.
But there's a lot of people that are like, well, we don't have enough money.
We've got to cut somewhere.
What do you say to that?
Yeah.
I often think about, because I'm a military retiree, so I get pension from the federal government.
But I also look at it as you want good people in these positions.
They are public servants.
They work for the state or the Commonwealth.
They work for our federal government.
But they make things run.
Yes.
And you have to have good people.
These are not positions where you make, as we started out talking at the very beginning, we're not billionaires.
We could make probably a lot more money in the private sector.
But if we want these things to be available for us, whether it's the parks here in Kentucky or state police or teachers, we want good people in these positions.
We have to have good paying people.
you know, jobs, but also some benefits associated with that.
