Senate votes were scrapped on Thursday after a stalemate over President Trump's $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund.

Now that meant the $72 billion immigration enforcement package was not passed, and then the House canceled its Friday session.

They'll take it up when they return.

Starting June 2nd, there are at most 32 days when both chambers are in session before the midterms.

Also, there are 12 appropriations bills that still need to be passed and signed and a June 12th deadline for FISA to be renewed.

It seems like there's violence all the time.

Senior Judge Paul Friedman accused Trump of weaponizing the Justice Department against law firms and others and said the president's rhetoric has contributed significantly to a trend of threatening judges.

Friedman called on lawyers to help restore respect for the courts and defend the rule of law, warning that the constant attack on courts by the administration and the acquiescence by Congress and the Supreme Court undermines trust in the courts.

This new requirement applies to any foreigner who came to the U.S.

on a temporary non-immigrant visa.

This includes students, employees on H-1B or L visas, and visitors.

Immigration law experts say the policy change could affect hundreds of thousands of people every year and potentially reduce legal immigration even more.

It is not clear how this new policy will be implemented and litigation over it is likely, but whether the court's pushback remains to be seen.
