I'm not agreeing to move forward on FISA unless we're going to protect American citizens from government spying.

So last year, you remember now, we're almost a year removed from the big, beautiful bill debates.

I was fighting as hard as I could to drag that thing to the fiscally responsible direction.

Remember, it was in May that I joined with three Republican colleagues in the Freedom Caucus to stop, vote down.

I voted against the big, beautiful bill.

Now, I'm getting all sorts of heat from the president, the White House, from Speaker Johnson, the Senate.

Chip, what are you doing?

You're going to destroy this.

You're going to ruin the tax cuts.

I said, guys, you're allowing Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski and a bunch of the squishes in the Senate to take away the reforms we were putting in place to be fiscally responsible.

Medicaid, but importantly, they were getting rid of all of the stuff we were doing on the Green New Scam subsidies.

So we fought and we got about half of those green new scam subsidies put back in.

Fast forward, now I'm running for attorney general.

A PAC in California, a bunch of leftists, ran a million dollars of ads against me in Texas saying they, quote, want to end my career.

Now, look, I'm going to win this race for attorney general, but I have news for them.
