There's no real escape plan because you don't know, especially in 1940, you don't know where the next patrol's operational base is, as we've seen, really super close.

But these guys wouldn't have known anything about Branscombe.

They wouldn't have known anything about the ones in Dorset.

So basically, you're just trying to escape.

uh there for morale purposes if the if the entrance here and the germans are here and they found the entrance and you're escaping down there you've gotten essentially no chance it's just something to so it feels like you've got a chance yeah but it essentially you haven't no because the germans are here they're not just going to be standing i don't need to hear this one that we might go to later didn't even bother to do uh escape tunnel

They wouldn't have, if they had heard noises, they wouldn't have... Well, the shiny OT, the observation post, if there is one and it's connected by telephone wire and he'd seen the Germans coming, he would have telephoned wire.

So they would either, if they're confident they're not going to find the bunker, just make sure the hatch was shut and then you'd just keep quiet and hope for the best.

Axmuth is a good landing beach.

So loads of country houses around here that are likely to be taken by Germans as headquarters.
