We had an Air Force plan under Dowding that was completely designed for this exact scenario of the Battle of Britain that we just rolled out and the Germans were never going to beat us in that.

And Bomber Command and Coastal Command and the Royal Navy, like the biggest navy in the world, the Germans were never, ever going to cross the Channel, ever.

Well, they might have got a foothold and then the Royal Navy would have come down and absolutely smashed them.

So we were massively prepared and hugely powerful.
