I got a job at a studio, making $400 a week before taxes. All of these people working here now, all of these young kids who are getting paid unbelievable money. We have people that work for us that I'm like, how much money do we pay you? You're 24 years old?
I think I made $300 a week after taxes. I was like... Anyway. And they're like, can I get reimbursement for gas? I'm like, yeah, sure. Whatever you want. What do you have, a Hummer? Yeah, I'll fill it up. Was it $300 to fill up your car? That's my entire paycheck for one week. I got a job doing that and I was a runaround all day and then stand up all night and then rinse, wash and repeat.

And it was constant. That's all you did. PA all day. Gopher. Whatever they wanted. Groceries. Cleaning up. I went to, you know, go to Beverly Hills and get your boss a tie. Drive it back by noon or you're fired. You know, it was like that... Go deliver scripts in the Hollywood Hills to movie stars without Google Maps. This is Thomas Guide. Do you know Thomas Guide?

I'm not kidding. To this day, I feel like maybe I'm stupid that I didn't have a dream.

I did, I guess. You noticed the date. Yeah, but I moved on that date only because my girlfriend had kicked me out of her place. It was just the day she was like, get out. Because I told her when I'm moving to LA together, she threw a knife at me and I had to leave. I was like, alright, I have to go. I guess I gotta go. So it was a coincidence I was a fourth. I didn't plan it like that.

I lived there. I was still a PA after that. And then I worked a day job. I got a day job at a music industry doing like paper pusher work for them.
