So even though she was in that situation where her roommate was peer pressuring her and trying to get her to go to the party,

even for just an hour, she stuck to her guns and didn't change her mind and was persistent, right?

Persistent, meaning that she wasn't going to change her mind for any reason at all.

She was dedicated to studying for that evening.

Okay, in Indiana at college, which roommate were you?

Were you the one that would go to the party or the one who would stick to her guns and stay home and study?

Yeah, I usually didn't need too much convincing to go out to a party.

If one of my friends was like, come on, let's go out just for an hour.

I'd be like, ah, good idea.

Okay.

Let's go to example number two.

And in this situation, we're going to hear a couple who is at a car dealership and they are discussing their car buying strategy before they talk to the salesperson.

I know every country around the world is different, but in North America, when you go to the car dealership, it's often this like dance between the customer and the salespeople.

about the customer trying to negotiate a very low price and the salespeople trying to negotiate a high price.

And it's not like you just walk into the dealership and you see the price tag and you pay that amount of money.

There can be a lot of bargaining and negotiation at a car dealership.
