Another show that I think does what I've just said expertly is Steven Universe.

These are two Cartoon Network shows that I've mentioned now.

But Steven Universe, I don't know if you've seen it.

A phenomenal show about a young boy who has lost his mother.

How do you explain it?

A crystal light being from another galaxy.

An alien made of light and gemstone.

But when the series begins, you see him.

a young boy, I think of eight, living with his quote-unquote aunties, who are crystal light beings from another galaxy.

is by virtue of his mother part human part crystal gem as they call them light being and so his aunties are there to try and help raise him try and help navigate

this as yet unknowable experience as Stephen is the first individual of his kind to exist.

Which is a huge challenge for these aliens to raise this young boy because

Well, children as a concept don't even exist in their society.

And of course they are often caught up in the business of trying to save the town, save the world, save the galaxy.

And at first, Stephen is ill-prepared to join them, so much so that they demand he stay at home.

He is, from the outside, just a young boy in a remarkable situation.

Steven Universe futures.
