Now, why is it going up?
It's because of this goddamn tourism.
The mountain's way more crowded.
We also have crazy weather, all this stuff.
Okay, so here's a story that's coming out this week.
The Nepalese authorities have uncovered a massive $20 million insurance fraud scheme that's been going on that has affected nearly 5,000 international climbers in the past three to four years.
So basically, there's all these people, like guides, Sherpas, and whatnot, that have been
poisoning these rich climbers, okay?
They've been sabotaging them by like putting baking powder in their food or medication, it says even rat droppings, to induce symptoms like nausea and dizziness, mimicking altitude sickness.
Then once this happens, they tell these people, you got to go down.
And they call in their buddies that are on the scam to come rescue them in helicopter.
And then they like inflate their charges and they collect tons of insurance money.
And it is a big thing with a lot of people.
So it's not a good look for all these people, right?
But I don't think this is born unless you have all this resentment, which I'm talking about.
So I'm not completely mad at this scam.
It's illegal and I don't support it and I think it's bad.
