I ended up using these little bells that we've been making improvised music with.

And it did make a difference.

Suddenly I was, you know, I was getting a lot more attention than I had been.

I suppose I did it for a few years there.

I guess I was doing okay.

I mean, I might have a good day once in every five kind of thing, you know, and then...

You know, you might have a terrible day.

You go around town and you hear the same songs all the time.

But I guess people are playing songs that are familiar.

I think people need something familiar to be attracted to.

Whereas I was playing songs that they never would have heard really before.

So why were you not busking now?

It was a waste of my time, really, to be honest.

I was putting so much time and energy into it.

I didn't really have an issue with the bylaws at all.

I thought they were going to help me and they probably did because they're encouraging people to be more aware of where they were busking.

The big thing is that everybody uses amplification these days.

Well, yeah, it does.

Noise is the big thing, really.

I think the city is a lot noisier now.
