I think what's so encouraging about all of this is that even a pastor at your caliber who's been in ministry for as long as you have, you still are aware that there are mysteries in the way that God works.

And there is such a bitter sweetness to it because I'm like, how do I have so much power through my ministry and I can't bring that same power home? And it's not that you don't want to see these people being, of course you do.

But there's such a weird tension of being like, okay, but I'm seeing you do this for so many people. But I'll give it all away if you'll just do it for this one person. You know what I mean?

It's like, I always, the gospel makes sense. You put the gospel up against any other religion. You put Jesus up against any other God, and it just makes sense. There is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. There's only one way, only one name under heaven by which men can be saved. You call on the name of Jesus, everything changes.
