Along with the networks of activists, mutual aid, and neighbors taking care of neighbors, there are people avoiding ICE because they're afraid of getting detained or deported.
Immigrants afraid of being targeted.
I talked to one of them.
We're calling her Emma.
Can you tell me about the moment that you found out the ice was coming to the Twin Cities, to Minneapolis?
In December, when ICE really ramped up enforcement, Em realized she needed to make some changes and take precautions.
