So I actually only knew my grandfather growing up because my paternal grandmother passed away and I was not in touch with my the maternal side. So that was pretty much I think the piece of advice that stuck with me the most is learning how to be lonely and really embrace that. And It's not that my grandfather necessarily gave me a ton of advice, but he lived by example.

He was like, go somewhere else, you know, build. I mean, China today, my dad was like, I would have never left. But back then in the 90s, there were not that many, not much opportunity. So my grandfather was always saying, go to the U.S.

Don't come back and risk not being able to re-enter the U.S. And I think it's that sense of just practicality.
