on November 9th, 2005, when a very frantic 911 call came into dispatch.
It was from a terrified woman who lived in Texas, and through her just panicked, hysterical sobbing, she told this operator that her husband had been shot while he was sleeping.
She also said, this is a little bit graphic, but she said there was pink foam coming out of his mouth.
And in the background, you can hear her screaming out and pleading for help, saying, help, he's making a god-awful sound.
Now that man, that man was Keith Gentry.
And at first, it seemed like a horrific home invasion, this random act of violence that shattered this very happy, very wholesome Texas family just overnight in the blink of an eye.
But as the detectives started digging into the case, the story began to unravel.
And it revealed one of the most unbelievable motives that I have ever heard of in any case that I've covered.
Now, Keith's loved ones were devastated.
And I should mention, they were adamant that the police got it all wrong.
They stood by the person who the police accused of pulling the trigger.
They were convinced there was absolutely no way that they could be responsible.
So what was the truth?
What really happened inside the Gentry home that night?
Was it a break-in gone wrong?
A crime of passion, maybe?
Or was it something far more calculated and chilling?
In order to answer that, we have to go back a little bit, and we need to talk about who Keith was.
Keith was your classic Texas guy just through and through.
He was polite.
