Which, okay, nothing crazy at first.
Except these gloves, they weren't clean.
They had what looked like tiny, dark specks on them.
Possibly even blood.
And inside one of those glovesβ¦
A single .22 caliber shell casing.
Which, yes, you heard that right.
A bullet casing inside the glove and the exact caliber that killed Keith.
So at that point, the investigators were convinced that Darlene was behind this.
But to be absolutely certain, they sent those gloves off for testing.
And it took a few weeks for the lab results to come back, but when they did, it was game over.
The testing showed not one, but two DNA profiles on those gloves.
Keith's DNA and Darlene's DNA.
And to make matters worse for her, the gloves also tested positive for gunshot residue.
So that was all the detectives needed.
The puzzle pieces had finally clicked into place.
They got their person.
They knew what happened.
And on November 28th, 2005, just a few weeks after Keith's murder, 31-year-old Darlene Gentry was arrested and charged with his death.
And it finally looked like case closed.
