Interceptions number two and three are Caleb.
cutting the ball loose like the first one it's a fourth down he's going and sails the football the two last week both fourth downs where you know dj falls down defenders are running free and he's just trying to sort of loft the ball to at least give the bears a chance to make a play those last two interceptions yesterday were not on fourth down we're not in sort of moments of desperation but to me at least it's a bears quarterback who is now showing the growth where in
Moments where he's got to anticipate where to go with the football.
And even that last play here where there was an opportunity in the flat.
I think it was Kemet was in the flat.
And you have a flood concept to that right side of the field.
And Caleb is just trying to trust that he's going to deliver the football where his wide receiver is going to end up.
So if this guy is covered and that guy is covered, and this is where my eyes tell me I have a receiver who can declare open, you've got to have a quarterback who's willing to cut that ball loose and trust his playmaker, trust himself to put the ball where it has to be.
So right now, in what is now the end of innocence, but...
I'm willing to view this as a positive result because you compare where Caleb was last night to where he was earlier in the season.
That's a moment where he tucks the football and starts running around everywhere trying to figure out how he can make a play.
You got a quarterback now that's still got that playmaker gene in him, no doubt.
We've seen it a bunch.
But you also got a guy who a head coach can now trust to just stand in the pocket, see the field clearly, and deliver the football where he believes it should go and is willing to trust his eyes and his playmakers to do it.
That's a big moment of growth that the Bears have seen here.
I think that's a more than fair observation or critique of where Roma Dunzey is at right now.
And my hope is to get in the offseason and not only get healthy, but you would like to see it.
You think of the opening drive of the game last night where Roma's open, Caleb puts the ball on his back hip between a couple of defenders, and yeah, it's...
Difficult weather conditions, no doubt.
But how big of an opening drive would that have been if Caleb throws that strike and then Rome's able to reach back and pluck the football?
