Was that an intentional idea, the noblesse oblige by the wealthy?
Was it accidental?
And then number two, if I'm right about what I'm saying, is there a way to return to that?
Or are we going into a place that we really can't come back from?
So there's a lot there, Heather Ann Thompson.
Take a deep breath and answer that question, please.
It makes me sad, you know, but I think it's real, you know, and I think that we have to recognize always that America is quite messy and that we've got lots of progress and a lot of families are done very well here, including mine and even yours, Heather.
But I think we have to also accept that we can be doing better.

OK, and so you listen to my podcast before my producer.
I come up with five words from your book.
I need one or two sentences from you.
OK, you're ready.
