Because that element referred to my parents, their obsession with life after death.
So it was my obsession with music and my parents' obsession with life after death.
So it was me as Ian Curtis or John Lennon and all these people.
So every month I did about four or five people.
So I did over a period of months in that village.
The funniest thing was when I did Zappa, which was only the second time I did this.
So I drove there and I had an old Mercedes with an English thing.
And I had an old Afghan coat on and a mustache and all that stuff.
The only person in the village who knew what I was doing, and I used his house to change, was the mayor of the village.
You know, they saw an Arab guy driving around in an English car.
They were worried that, of course, after New York, the village where I was born was going to be second to get bombed or something.
Every time you have an exhibition, you hang up these pictures and think, well, there's so many people that hang up here that I can't retake the pictures.
And it was interesting as well that sometimes photographs take on a whole new life that you never intended for it to be.
