If it is not authoritative, then the Quran makes false statements when it says that the Torah and the Gospel are authoritative and preserved by God.
In either case, the Quran makes false statements.
It refutes itself.
This is a very, very solidβthis is why I recommended that book, The Islamic Dilemmaβ
It's an extremely solid argument that Muslims can never, ever deal with.
So for many different reasons like these, specifically because the Quran makes so many false statements and self-contradictory and self-refuting statements, we can undoubtedly come to the conclusion that Islam is a false religion started by some maniac in the 7th century who had no idea what he was talking about.
So two questions in one.
How long was you a Muslim for and what was the first crack in your faith?
Very good question.
So I was raised as a Muslim and lived as a Muslim for nearly 20 years.
It was much later in life that I started becoming very dedicated and devoted to my Muslim faith, which I always had lots of respect for.
But I was raised in Germany, later lived in Turkey,
In Turkey, I was reading the Quran for myself in a language that I actually understood.
The problem is that the vast majority of Muslims have never read the Quran.
And of those who did read it, the vast majority have never read it in a language that they understand because the Quran is always taught to be β Muslims are taught to recite the Quran, not to read and learn from it.
The reciting is the noble part of it, the singing of it, you know, because it sounds beautiful apparently.
You could also sing a phone book and it would also sound beautiful.
That doesn't mean anything.
But so I actually β
I actually sat down and read it, and when I did read it, I had a lot of questions, and I asked scholars and others to resolve these questions, and nobody could resolve them.
