81-year-old Rod Stewart is in a spot of bother with fans.

Now, usually we wouldn't talk about Rod Stewart, but this is crazy.

So he cancelled his concert in California on Friday night, 40 minutes before his duty start, citing an acute upper respiratory infection and laryngitis.

Then the very next morning, he posted a clip on a private jet with his sons heading to Boston to watch Scotland at the World Cup, where he cheered and drank the whole game.

The backlash was swift.

Now, in fairness, laryngitis affects the voice, not the ability to sit in a stadium.

And there is kind of something genuinely touching about an 81-year-old man flying with his family to watch Scotland's first World Cup since 1998.

But the optics are not great.

The private jet could have, like, waited a day.

And finally, some very sad news to close out.

James Barker, the executive producer of Love Island USA, has passed away at just 40 years old after an unexpected medical emergency while filming season eight in Fiji last week.

Barker had been with the show since 2020, working his way up from story producer to executive producer.

He's also worked on Queer Eye.

Details surrounding his death have not been disclosed, but ITV America and Peacock said he was a beloved and greatly valued member of our collective family whose kindness, talent and dedication left an indelible mark on all of us and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
