President Trump signed an executive order Tuesday that seeks to create a list of U.S.
citizens who are eligible to vote in each state.
The order also instructs the U.S.
Postal Service to administer and track mail-in ballots nationwide, which is currently done by local officials.
Legal experts and state election officials are calling this effort an overreach.
Trump says it's an effort to reduce voter fraud, even though it remains a rare occurrence in American elections.
State officials in Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon promptly announced they plan to fight the order in court and stop it from going into effect.
Trump's last order related to elections is currently blocked by court orders.
