The moment you bring those people, you bring peacemakers and you bring women, you will see change.
I've been working peacebuilding for years.
I've worked in Syria, worked in Afghanistan, worked in many conflicts around the world.
And one of the things I learned, every war usually prepares a way for the ones after it.
And the Iraq War have given us so many other conflicts in the region.
It came with a promise that if Saddam Hussein falls, then we're going to have democracy all over the Middle East.
No one saw that happen.
I didn't see democracy happen.
I see Afghanistan, where I spent a lot of time there.
We're back to having Taliban.
And I look at the promises around Iran.
I'm like...
How can we believe the same lies again and again?
And this is not because I'm a fan of the regime there.
I think it's a horrible regime.
But change doesn't happen, sustainable change doesn't happen through bombs.
We create a world that believes that violence is away.
And if you have the power, then you go on and do it.
You don't need allies.
You don't need an international law.
