She was.
She was great.
Yeah, she was really great.
And I was so lucky.
As regards aging, she was 50-ish when she set up her own business.
And she kept that going for about 10 or 15 years.
What kind of business was that?
And I started to work with her then for a while.
She set up a business called DataSkill, which was teaching this newfangled word processing to women who were going back to work.
Because a lot of women had left the workforce.
This would have been in the late 80s.
So a lot of women had left the workforce to have kids and were then going back into the workforce for whatever reason.
And suddenly, like when they left the workforce, there was typewriters, golf ball typewriters.
And when they were going back into the work, now there was computers on everybody's desk.
So anybody in a secretarial role and most women were in support roles.
They needed to learn this new thing of word processing.
So my mother set up a business, which we ran from home, where we taught word processing.
I did it as well.
And we did it on a one to one basis.
There was a lot of counselling involved as well.
