My mother knew I was having the scan that day.
Just happened to be passing by the office I worked in a couple of hours.
later and said, come on, we go out for coffee.
And she said, well, and I said, yeah, no, I am pregnant.
The two of us fell around the place laughing.
She was like, I don't know how the fuck we're going to tell your father.
Like, this is just a disaster.
Like, you know, and it was hysterical laughter.
Anyway, so she was fine.
And I knew she would be fine.
My father, who was a very conservative, as he'd say himself, he was just retired at that stage or was heading to retirement, senior civil servant, a conservative, solid person.
He didn't like anybody.
He wouldn't like you getting a parking ticket.
