I had reservations about it.

I acknowledged that my palate was at fault, that it was too rich for my palate.

This game was fine.

It was nowhere near the quality of PSG buy-in.

It was, I mean, to be honest, it was this sort of shambolic game that showed probably why

Both teams maybe should change managers before next season.

I think both will actually still be in charge at the beginning of next season.

But after 14 minutes with United 2-0, I was thinking this could be a performance so bad from Liverpool that actually does force a slot out the door.

But Carrick's put United in a really difficult position.

Because he's had this massive advantage that not a single team United have played this season have played more football than them.

The failures are getting to you, but going out of both cups at the earliest possible opportunity means they are fresher than all the teams they play against.

So he really is playing on easy mode and he's done quite well.

You know, it's what, is it 11 wins, two draws, two defeats, which is... It's pretty good.

It's really good.

I mean, yeah, we put you five points clear.

But is it good enough, given the advantages they've had, given the lack of pressure on them?

And that's really, really hard to tell.

But now the problem that United have is if they don't keep Carrick on...

And they appoint somebody new and they have a slightly iffy start.
