Let me stop here for the new viewers.
We do disaster relief pretty often, so the channel goes over stuff like this every once in a while.
Don't read into this to the point that you think we're saying society is collapsing.
Although, with 40 million missing meals, it might get bumpy.
Most of the time on the channel, the advice is created by guys who subscribe wholeheartedly to the belief that mobility is life.
You may have never noticed, but everything is always packed into bags or something that can be easily loaded into a car.
If I never see another 40 millimeter ammo can, it'll be too soon.
You always need the option of mobility, so you can review all of those videos.
But something they don't often go over is how to actually prepare your home or the home of somebody in your network for an extended period.
because that's what most people want to do.
They don't think, hey, me and all my friends are SEER graduates.
We can live in the woods.
So today, we're going to provide a little additional bit to the emergency preparedness series.
First is securing the home.
Most people know how to do that from watching zombie movies.
Board up windows, secure doors, you know, all the stuff you do before hurricanes.
But beyond that, it's selecting the right place to begin with.
Ideally, as secure and isolated a place as you have access to within your network.
When evaluating where you want to be if you're trying to avoid zombies, think of the situational awareness mantra of stop, look, listen, smell.
You want the locations that don't draw attention to start with, and then you can modify them to draw even less by maintaining light, sound, and smell discipline.
