And I hung up, and my boyfriend or fiancé was really mad at me, and she called back, and she said, no, it's for real. And I said, okay, and I just took my purse, and I ran out of there, and I didn't come back.

Well, my parents are still together, madly in love. They write each other beautiful cards and letters, and they're still jealous if someone is out too long. They want to know where they've been. And they've always had this very wild love affair. And I think my brother and I would feel like we were in the way a lot of the times because they were the most important people in each other's lives.

And that was something I never wanted my kids to feel, even though I love my parents, I care for them, and they are here with me. And my dad is really kind of mellowed out, I guess, in his later years. He had a stroke about five years ago. He made a full comeback. He even got his eyesight back, which is interesting. He used to have to wear glasses, and now he doesn't.
