Senator Thune says that we need to put sanctions on Russia.

Today was supposed to be one of those other two weeks where Donald Trump says sanctions on Russia and potentially the US giving long range weapons to Ukraine.

But Trump spoke with Putin, then Trump's like, this was the greatest conversation.

It's so productive.

Putin made me all of these promises.

It's just Trump is so thirsty for the theater of a deal that he just wants to announce deal.

No matter what the outcome actually is, he just wants to say deal.

Look, I did a deal.

It's weird behavior.

So the reporter says, look, the Senate Republican leader, Thune, said he would like to proceed with the bill to put sanctions on Russia.

Wasn't that what this week is supposed to be about?
