For those who don't know the reference, go watch the movie.
William Hurt plays a broadcast news anchor who's vying for sort of the chief anchor job.
And one of the things that he does, he cuts an interview with a woman who's been victimized and he cries in the interview and this gets him the job.
And it turns out later, there was only one camera in the room, which means that he actually had to flip the camera around and later splice in himself crying.
