It turns out people want an awful lot of things.

They want other people's wealth, as we discussed.

They want to screw over other people.

People want to do things without any responsibility for those things.

Do not teach people to be immoral for long periods of time while pretending that that's what leads you to the happiness at the end of the rainbow.

You don't have to do any of that.

And in fact, you damage yourself in the process.

You make your life worse for a long period of time.

You bear the scars of those things.

there's an idea in Judaism about repentance.

It's kind of an interesting idea.

The idea is that when you repent, your sins turn into merit, which is an interesting idea, right?

Because why should a sin turn into a merit?

Shouldn't the sin just sort of remain a sin?

The basic philosophical idea is that the sin turns into a merit when you learn from it, when you realize you did something because that's hard to do.

That there's a difference between a scar that was incurred

and then heal.

And then you realize the mistake you made and lead a better life from here on.
