The Atlantic League is a big league too.
And now this year, and this last one for you, this year, that spring training journey that can be at times a stressful one depending on where you are on the 40-man roster, you end up breaking camp with a team, first time you break camp with a big league club in your career.
I've asked you this off-air, but for the Blue Jays fans who have not heard it or the fans on the radio who haven't heard it,
What did it mean to you to break camp on the Major League roster and be with the team on the line to start the year for the first time?
Well, Tommy, it's been great to talk with you.
I feel like I could do a whole other hour, but I'll save you the time.
You've got a game coming up.
Thank you very much for the time.
Coverage of Blue Jays baseball continues on the Sportsnet Radio Network.
I'm Ben Schulman alongside former Blue Jay infielder and current Pittsburgh Pirate first baseman Spencer Horowitz.
Spencer, thanks so much for joining me.
How are you doing?
How has it been to be back in Toronto?
I know you played against the Blue Jays last year, but this is your first time as of yesterday when you hit a sack fly to start the scoring.
First time you've been back playing on this field again.
What do you remember?
What are some of the things that stand out from the time where you're drafted?
You know, not exactly a first-round draft pick by the Blue Jays, and you end up working your way.
I believe there was a Northwest League hitting streak record mixed in there.
You work your way to the roster and end up being a part of the 23 run and then a big part of the 24 team as well.
