And then, of course, having to then balance that with the performing.
She wanted to have kids.
But then, you know, when she also had to do all of this high pressure live performing when the kids were at such a young age, I can imagine that was a really, really hard thing for her.
And I sensed it.
You know, subconsciously, I think, as a kid, of course, you just absorb everything, you know, from your parents when you're a kid and, you know, when you're around them.
So stuff that you are aware of, stuff you're not aware of.
I felt the tension with her and my dad when they would be, you know, getting ready to perform live.
And, you know, I talk about the drinking in the movie.
You know, that was something that, you know, wasn't discussed in our house.
And I think it was because my dad didn't really know how to deal with that.
And he was trying the best he could to figure out how to manage this relationship and this, you know, this marriage and this working relationship that was their livelihood.
So we sensed it, but it was, you know, stuff that I kind of processed later in life.
So Hazel Hugh was our nanny.
Hazel took care of us and was, you know, basically since I think the time that I was probably about four years old.
And she was from Jamaica and she had seven children.
