I've got one of a rider at the Tour of Turkey, for example, a Polish rider in a breakaway.
So...
I want to start off by making it clear, this rule is one of the least consistent applied rules I've ever seen in the sport of cycling.
And we've spoken about deviation rules in the past.
Exactly.
So it's not just the inconsistency of applying the rule, it's also the inconsistency of the penalty that comes with it, because Alex Segaard and Charmich got a yellow card as a consequence of doing so, while Jan-Willem van Schip got a DSQ.
Now, I do have to note, there are some rules in the...
in the rulebook like the deviation rule might be one of them i'm not completely sure where you can get a yellow card as a in higher level races but in smaller races you can't get a yellow card and goes directly to dsq i don't know if that's the case in this specific example
That's a possible reason to why, but then my opinion is, make sure yellow cards can be given in every classification of race, not just top races and N.Pro races, but also in 1.1s and 2.1s and 1.2s, whatever.
That's my view on that.
Now, this to the side, this to me is like, he got disqualified for something that other people on paper don't often get disqualified for, and...
the rule is inconsistently applied in the first place.
Now we go to the last week, where is the Ronde de l'Oise, which is very difficult to pronounce.
On stage two, he got another penalty, I assume a yellow card, maybe, I'm not sure, for a non-compliant position.
I have not seen what he did wrong.
I assume it's a similar thing as he did...
on the 7th of May than in the Tour of Hellas.
Gotta say, if you get called for doing something on the 7th of May, you can't use that argument on Stage 2, for example, again, that you, so to say, would have, uh...
you didn't know what the where where the line was now i do think that jan van schip said two things one that he had a phone call booked or some kind of meeting booked with uci maybe a few months ago and it ended up being cancelled not from his side to clarify things maybe after the tour of holland thing but secondary there uh there is the effect on the ronald lois that he actually
i think he specifically went to a commissaire to ask whether what he's doing is okay or not and then he still got penalized on stage two anyway that's how i perceive uh the story that's been told now he's also been disqualified two days later on stage four of that same race for the use of non-compliant clothing i
