I love his sentences.
They're so crisp and to the point.
There's no waffle in there.
I found the writing really likeable.
Not the character.
The character's not exactly hiding something, but not exactly showing it either.
Well, I've just reviewed Horse by Ania Wolwich for Australian Book Review, and it's a fabulous book.
Once again, a genre crosser.
It's more or less a palimpsest, like it follows the storyline and fills in its own thing of an old Russian folk tale.
called The Humpbacked Horse.
And in between, there's piles of psychoanalytic theory.
And she's an amazing performance poet.
So the kind of ranting, raving performance style that she's famous for is built into that.

Also recently, I've read Otessa Moshfeg's Eileen, which came out in 2016.
And I
I really, really liked the voice of this, the kind of cleverness of her endless complaints.
She's... And they're justified.
