The first reason that whales are really good at capturing carbon is because they go around their whole life eating food, eating carbon, essentially.
And then when they die, they sink to the bottom of the ocean.
And some of them get eaten at the surface, but a lot of their bodies, it traps that carbon deep down in the bottom of the ocean.
