I like the way my friend who actually recommended this book to me described it.
He said, at some point in the book, you want to hug and strangle every character.
How did you balance creating both a, you know, a lovable and at times despicable character?
I came across an article published on Northwestern's website about your forthcoming book.
You know, back when this article was published about a year ago, the title of your book was Bye Bye Palestine, which is a phrase that arises in the text.
Can you talk to me about that title and why it changed?
You just mentioned a couple of edits that were made to the title to how the book began.
And I read your famous writer's routines interview and something you said echoed what I've heard from other authors recently.
This was after your third novel, I believe.
And you said, I do have writer friends who have managed to maintain the same editor over several books, but I've never once had the editor who bought my novel still working at the publishing house by the time the novel came out.
Was that the case with this novel, too?
I was very careful about avoiding spoilers.
I feel like I haven't really asked anything about the book.
But is there anything that you would like to talk about that I haven't asked?
Or do you have a hope for what readers take away from the book?
Well, the book is Every Exit Brings You Home.
