Do you need to, you know, go look for a new electronic, whatever it is?
Can you put those things aside and just โ
finish the season, spend that time on preparation for our opponents, spend that time on, you know, rest, recovery, training, so that you're your absolute best when we really need you here in these last few stretch weeks.
And as you know, you know, Shane, when you get to a certain point, it's a one-game season.
If you lose, you're done.
And if you win, you get to play another week.
So when you get into that scenario, put it off until next week.
And if you're in it next week, put it off until the week after that.
But this is what we've worked all year for.
Put those things in the drawer and then open the drawer when the season's over.
Now, we would joke about it and, you know, guys would say, hey, coach, you know, my drawer is getting pretty full here.
So, you know, maybe you need a bigger drawer or maybe you need two drawers.
But the idea was to put those things on the back burner and focus on on the very special opportunity that we had in front of us, which was playoffs or championships.
Well, first of all, we don't have cell phones and Apple watches and things like that in our meetings so that they're not part of the meetings.
But when the meetings are over, you know, a lot of times the guys race to see what, you know, messages and texts and so forth are there.
You know, and my thing on that has always been, again, other than, you know, family and very personal situations, you know,
The guys that are most important to each of us are the guys in that locker room, the guys that you win and lose with and live and die with each day, and that you count on them and they count on you.
