They don't have the drive we have because they've got this machine telling them that everybody's doing better than them 24 hours a day and they're worthless.
So I go the other way.
I root for the kids.
And then the last 15 minutes is really an homage to my father, who was my biggest fan.
And he passed a few years back
from lung cancer.
And it took me a minute to start being able to write about that.
But when I did, I think I found something pretty healing through that whole journey.
I know that's okay, man.
He's with us right now.
My wife always says, you're just a hack ripoff for your father.
And if you know that that's what you want to do, and I respect people who know they don't want children, but if that is the journey you want to take, which is what I wanted to take, then I'm not going to be a hypocrite with him.
And I'm going to try to guide him to the best of my ability because you got to remember, these kids are going through all the adolescence that we went through, the fears of adolescence.
Who am I going to be?
Is anyone going to love me?
Where am I going to live?
What am I going to do?
And then you add social media.
And then you add the political environment of this world.
