And that diversity is extraordinary when you think about it.
And there's nowhere else in the world that has that spatial and temporal depth of study that we have here and all of that diversity to celebrate.
And in fact, this is something we were trying to achieve with the book as well, is all of us, Billy, Larissa and I have all had extraordinary Indigenous mentors over the breadth of our careers and had that opportunity to
be with country and be with knowledge holders and had our lives and our knowledges enriched by that experience.
And we wanted to capture some of that in a form that we could share that joy and celebrate that knowledge with a broader population who may not have had those opportunities we've had.
Hopefully the book is a celebration of that joy we feel and that privilege we feel and also that responsibility we feel to country.
This is a joyous thing that all Australians should be celebrating the knowledges embedded with country and with these senior knowledge holders.

The books that have been launched in the midst of the pandemic, David Farrier wrote a book and had a COVID launch called Footprints in Search of Future Fossils, which is a beautiful meditation on our rapidly changing world and the footprints we're leaving behind us, the long-term consequences of
of our consumer culture, the changes we're making to the environment.
And he searches for what he calls future fossils, which are what will today look like in the deep future?
It's a way of casting forward.
And he's thinking about what will narrative and myth and image and metaphor be like in the deep future?
What are the stories we're telling today that will last?
How might I be a good ancestor?
