It's because they have created this dichotomy, this black hat, white hat thing in their head, just to get back at Trump, though.

So what they are doing, progressives of the modern era, they have a sense that they have to find a boogeyman even where one doesn't exist. So their highest and best use of their time, they think, is like finding an oppressor to march against. Putin is the oppressor. Trump is the oppressor.
