So, um, uh, I'm part of a group at the time it was called YEO today.
It's called EO.
Uh, I was sitting in my forum and it was October, 2001.
It was right after September 11th.
So I'd been out of the business for about 18 months.
And, you know, everybody's freaking out about what's going on.
And we're sitting with my forum and, you know, you're supposed to share from your experience.
I'm like, well, hey, one of the ways you can do you can help your business right now when everything is kind of seized up is you could, you know, trade amongst yourselves and there's a way to do it.
Well, by the end of the meeting, my forum mates had convinced me to, you know, get back into this business.
And BizX was born.
so that's how it got started i never thought i would get back into this business and the idea was again our origins were this bartering uh group where i would say in 2012 really looking forward i saw the opportunity you look at alternative currencies and you saw this first coming in gaming and today you see crypto but the idea was is that
we're not in the barter business we really have a we actually really have a currency that is liquid that enables people to buy and sell amongst each other and so that is where our
where the re-energized growth came from.
It was like, okay, how do we really, really scale this?
When I first started- Did you bootstrap?
Yeah, so going back, when we started the company, we were $65,000 of my own money, bootstrapped it.
We were cashflow positive eight months in.
And we had no interest in being huge investors
uh no interest and we were very very uh you know we were very very select in a very very small boutique shop and it was all about how much cash can we drive and how much top line revenue and and and very well and so the opportunity and we didn't even spend a lot of money in technology and so the real idea behind big growth and scalability
uh, really came in and around 2012.
