But not just haunted houses.

Amusement parks, carnivals, even some fairs are in the business of recreational fear.

And you could argue that that, if

That industry, if it's even an industry of fear, is billions of dollars.

And it's tied to this saying that people in the amusement biz have, fear minus death equals fun, right?

You can do some crazy, scary stuff.

And if you're extremely confident that you're not going to die from this amazing experience.

How about maiming?

It's not yet.

If you're confident that there's no maiming, no death, then it's going to be a lot of fun.

And the most extreme expression of that in my life was jumping out of a plane.

That was, wow.

What got me through it was the recognition.

I asked the guy, how many times have you done this?

He's like, oh, about 2,300 times.

I'm like, all right, 2,300 times.

The risk is really, you know, it's really kind of low, relatively speaking here.

So that's what got me over that hump and let me jump out of that plane at

And not just the parachute, the backup parachute that would deploy if you were even unconscious.

That helped, too.
