If Malik Willis gets a job, it ain't going to be for $20 million a year.
I'd be shocked by that.
You're telling me you think that's what the market is?
I agree with that.
You just said that we have very limited options in free agency for quarterback.
Yet if you look at the teams who are desperate for quarterback, knowing this draft may not produce what they want, you don't think that market's going to go high.
We agree on that.
Again, Daniel Jones had eight games last year, and he had his moments.
If the market calls for that, if I was desperate enough, I thought last year, one year, $14 million would have been an option for the Steelers.
That's one of the things I thought was possible, and they didn't go in that direction.
Neither would I. Ideally, I don't want to give that much either.
But if I'm going to have to because I need a quarterback, the market, there were five teams reportedly interested in Willis.
You don't think that push comes to shove that somebody's going to just say, look, we need him.
We've come to the conclusion I want him.
And I'll go wherever I have to go.
But you had one game, basically.
Game and a half to show what Willis can do.
You're willing to take that risk, but over Daniel Jones, you won't.
