Yeah, I think all of it plays into it.

You secure that kind of guaranteed money, you're set, you don't have to worry.

And in his case, I don't think it will affect anything.

If you're a guy up there in age and you get a long-term contract, to me there's always a fear that if you don't play well, you know you've still got the money and you're not going to get another contract anyway.

He knows that he wants to play and establish himself, so he has everything going motivationally.
