It was funny.
We both congratulated each other on the recent marriages last week.
I had to show off my little rubber band ring to him.
But...
It's crazy because you think about where you were in life at 19.
Yeah.
This kid is about to make his Major League Baseball debut.
Two years ago he was going to prom.
Seriously.
He carries himself in the way.
We talk about how Paul Skeens and we have the comparisons to him and Sidney Crosby, like the mentalities those guys have.
It seems like Connor Griffin is somebody from that same vein, and he's even younger.
It's so impressive to me how a kid that is still not even 20 years old carries himself.
And the other weird thing that I thought about, he brought up how COVID was such a big year in his development.
Connor Griffin was 13 years old during COVID.
Oh, my gosh.
He was 13 years ago during COVID, and now he's about to take the field as a Pittsburgh Pirate.
I would love him batting sixth, and here's why.
If you put him a little bit further down the lineup, obviously there's huge pressure on Griffin coming up immediately and just the huge expectations that are already on him.
Eventually, I would bat him leadoff, but I would rather have him a little bit further on down the lineup, have him bat after Ozuna and O'Hearn and right in between.
