Back then, there were people coming after you with offers that sometimes looked too good to turn down, but they did, like Eddie Johnson with Lemieux.

Crosby was an ultimate one.

But when you have a guy who is in this position –

I think you look at it and you say to yourself, all right, Paul Skeens, everyone knows what he is.

There was a lot of pressure on Ben Sherrington to go out and get a Dylan Cruz or a Wyatt Langford or somebody like that.

He resisted that.

So while people tend to make it seem like, oh, that's an easy pick for anyone to make, sometimes it really isn't that easy, is it?

Yeah, I mean, that could very well be the case, and I think they're better with him coming off the bench, actually.

Their bench, I thought, was a little light coming into this where they're playing these two guys every day.

Now you put one late in the game for whatever.

It's a defensive replacement or defensively.

Even at bat, it makes the bench better, and I think that's a big part of baseball as well.
