So...
For six months, I ate plenty of croissants, donuts.
I was having double my portion sizes at lunch.
It was like something off Bridget Jones' diary.
It was, you know, I almost felt like an actor preparing for a role and shifting my mindset, taking away that vanity, knowing that was part of my performance.
That actually saved me when it did come to the cold waters.
But by the same token, it was uncomfortable sitting in my ski.
I had a lot of swelling throughout my whole body, so inflammation.
And the worst thing was because I was so seasick, I couldn't keep those tablets down.
So I had bulging discs in my back from a couple of months in.
So those first couple of weeks, it was almost like the novelty was still there.
But once that wore off, things felt more painful, away from the flashes of the cameras and all of that stuff.
But we had to start.
Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely.
As you were paddling?
As I was paddling.
So to paint a bit of a picture, and sorry if anyone's having their lunch, I'm
I would paddle, you know, from a weekend, I was paddling over 100km a day.
And once we started to move away from the civilised section of coastline of New South Wales, I would say once we got past the south coast of New South Wales, we started heading a long way out to sea.
