I tried to, Faraday, but Charlie's traveling in Europe and I couldn't get in touch with him.

She had a letter from Kingston, but now I know it was forged.

All I did was to phone the stores and ask that my friends be well taken care of.

Apparently, they wanted me to do that for two reasons.

One, to be sure they saw only the best furs, and second, so that when they left town, the heat would be on me.

So I thought the safest spot would be in your apartment.

If Mary had opened the box, she'd have thought that the coat was for her.

And I didn't think it was right to ask her to keep a coat for somebody else.
