And I do think it's important to understand.
point out that just because someone's been through a process like this before and made some mistakes or hasn't executed it to the way that they might have liked doesn't mean that they can't have learned from that process too, right?
So I know some of the previous general manager names
have sort of come out and stricken fear into the hearts of fans.
But ultimately, you know, we're not going to be in the room doing the interviews.
And I'll be really interested to see at the end of this process, which does seem to be pretty thorough, whether they do prioritize experience and a veteran general manager and someone that's done it before, or whether a young up-and-coming candidate blows the doors off them in interviews and gets an opportunity to take on this project.
Kevin Adams, I think, is the name that I was kind of alluding to there.
there were a lot of good things about the work he did in Buffalo.
And certainly when you look at where the Sabres have gone since he left and some of the trades he made to help supplement that roster, you can look at that and say, okay, he had an indication of when he needed to make moves and where he could find value and where he could upgrade his roster.
And that skill set is what I look at
Um, when I talk about, you know, understanding when it's ready to move and being willing to be aggressive at the right time.
Um, that said, you know, I don't think you can ignore the fact that the team went on their run after he left.
So is there, you know, room for improvement for him in terms of, um, you know, the culture that he builds organizationally, you know, the, yeah, man management, whether it's within his staff or within the organization or, or,
or creating that culture that can foster a team going on a run while you're still there rather than it taking you leaving for that to happen.
So that's the example that jumps to mind.
I know you guys aren't as hot on Marc Bergevin, but I do wonder what he's learned from his experiences in the past and whether he would be different.
I guess ultimately we'll have to wait and see if he ends up being a serious candidate here
I'm not defending his track record.
I'm saying maybe he's learned from it.
Yeah, and I think ultimately the answer is probably there's only 32 of these jobs, and if you want one of them, sometimes you need to get your hands dirty to a certain degree.
