Hi there.

Thanks for taking my call.

My question today is how do I draw boundaries when supporting a family member who's been charged with a crime and likely facing incarceration?

Immediate family member.

Who has a family and kids.

Two.

Mm-hmm.

I think it's going to be likely.

um this is six months or 20 years uh uh it's in between there um it's in the years okay um i think probably five or longer okay so we're talking about helping this family out for five to ten years potentially yeah i i think so it's a little daunting um at this point right thinking about that yeah how are you doing financially

So I'm lucky or we're doing well.

And even in immediate terms, right, like the most immediate things like retaining counsel and any bail situation, like those things I've been able to cover and cash flow.

Yes, we've been actively supporting them, both kind of emotionally as well as even having them over and staying with us.

But we haven't gone too far.

I think we're taking things one day at a time.

They will be.

Have you guys talked about that?

There have been some discussions where I think

Good thing is there is there's family on both sides who can be supportive.

I think the details are not quite there.
